Do you remember the T-shirt dress I’d made for the Holiday Sewing blog tour in December? I’ve been very quietly working behind the scenes and have finally made another T-Shirt Dress. This time, I documented my steps and put together a tutorial and printable pdf pattern to share.
To make a t-shirt dress, start by putting a large t-shirt on inside-out and marking where your waist is. Then, take off the shirt and draw a horizontal line across the front and back of it where you marked your waist. Next, measure your waist and cut a piece of elastic to the same size, pinning the elastic to the line you drew across the shirt.
HI DARLINGS! Last week on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL I posted my favorite way to copy my t-shirts to create a pattern, you can see that video HERE or scroll down. This week I took that same tutorial and I created a NEW VIDEO on how to make an easy to wear t-shirt dress (video also below).. I used a terry knit in a denim blue that I picked up from MICHAEL LEVINE recently. Casual T-shirt dress sewing instructions: Prepare the pockets. Overlock the edge of the opening, fold and stitch. If using a top stitching machine, just fold and stitch the opening of the pocket. If the fabric is very stretchy or curves a lot you might want to baste it first. Baste and sew pockets to the front piece of your dress.
To start, try on your t-shirt and mark where it hits your waist with a pin. Take off your shirt and mark a line 2? below your pin – this gives the top part of the dress that blouse-y effect. Cut the shirt at your line. Cut your elastic so it just fits your waist without overlapping.
INSTRUCTIONs// Hem the bottom pieces of the lining by fold under 1/4? twice and press. Sew right at 1/4? from the folded edge. Pin two layers of tulle to the lining and baste along the sides.

T Shirt Dress Tutorial. Posted on 09/07/2019 by create shirts online. I felt horrible. What had I just let my son do? How could I have been so stupid? Why didn’t I protect him? Why did I allow him to do something that would certainly end up embarrassing him? I rushed to pick out the next card
Instructions {based off dress made for an almost two year old. you’ll need to make adjustments according to size, height, and age}: Start by aligning your tshirt with one of the guidelines on the cutting mat. There are several ways to go about making a T-shirt dress. This is a good one to start with, as it doesn’t involve cutting your T-shirt.
