why is only info on the palomar 300A being sought out in a cb newsgroup? Again the answer is because its keyclown gear and toll and his pals are keyclowns. Palomar 300a 40m-20m-15m-10m 450 watt amplifier. Great for use with QRP rig (817, flex 1500, other low drive radios) or a normal 100w rig. Has High and low settings. Re: Palomar 300A power supply specs Hi Michael, The manual can be found here. It uses six 6KD6/6LF6 tubes (two driving four). As Sue said, it would be best to get rid of the driver stage (if you have more than a few watts of driving power).

The 300a was about as good as you could get from Palomar. The extra piece could be a pain, but well worth it! At the end of the day it was still a CB amp, but better than most. If you want even a better amp, find yourself a Pride DX-300!
As I mentioned with the 300 a as per manual instructions from Palomar advancing the load knob clockwise a bit in order to drop the dead key carrier will clean the audio up and show forward modulation. It works great when the load knob on the 300a is Advanced clockwise. And that’s exactly what the 300 a Palomar manual suggest. The Only Exception
