I obviously have to read PDFs from time to time, and for that I use browser extensions/functionality or standalone PDF-Xchange Viewer (free edition). Occasionally, I have to create PDFs. You can save LibreOffice documents as PDFs (with a fair number of options), and I’ve done that a number of times with no noticeable problems.
