In addition to the release of Category 6A requirements, the ANSI/TIA-568-B series of standards are being superseded by ANSI/TIA-568-C series. The new ‘568-C series incorporates all previously published addenda, plus a new section of generic cabling guidelines. Note 1: All cabling will be done according to TIA/EIA 568 B.21 Standards and wiring to be terminated to 568B Standard. Note 2: SC connectors will be used for all Single Mode Fiber Secor Cam Locks (3M hot
TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a standards developing organization (SDO). TIA’s engineering committees create standards and technical documents based on guidelines established by the ANSI Essential Requirements.

ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B The latest standard published by TIA is the ANSI/TIA/EIA 568-B standard. It is a revision of the ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-A that was published in 1995. It includes the core document, all five existing addenda and TSB-67, TSB-72, TSB-75 and TSB-95. This standard is published as a 3-part document:
TIA-568-D.3 addresses components of fiber optic cable systems, and TIA-568-D.4, addressed coaxial cabling components. The intent of these standards is to provide recommended practices for the design and installation of cabling systems that will support a wide variety of existing and future services.
The latest TIA standard for balanced twisted-pair cable systems – TIA 568.2-D – was approved for publication during the TR-42.7 meeting on June 12, 2018. It will replace TIA-568-C.2 and is expected to be published in the coming weeks. For the past year (or more), we’ve been talking about many of the changes we will see in this standard, and now that it’s approved, we decided a
