I have a Henry Golden Boy .22 mag that I’m very happy with but while cleaning it I managed to ruin the finish on the receiver. I read in the owners manual that you have to be careful what you use to clean it with because some chemicals will damage the “brass” finish.

Has anyone had a problem with the Henry lever action Model H001 jamming if the lever is not worked fast enought. The nose of the round seems to pop up above the entrance to the barrel. Seems to happen with any brand of 22 LR standard Fedeeral to CCI Stingers, shorts on the otherhand feed normally. The Henry .22 Lever Action Rifle barked, and the squirrel came down, hit the ground, kicked twice, and then came home with me. That is the best review I can give any firearm. The ability to reliably put food on the table is the hallmark of a good rifle, and the Henry just proved itself on that score.

Anyway, I got a Henry golden boy in .22lr a little while back, and have been using it to keep my pockets from being completely empty when the 30-30 and .40 want to play. Since ammo is getting so expensive, I have decided I may just start plinking with the .22, maybe a little small bird hunting on the farm, instead of deer hunting.
