Overview
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Money is not the be all and end all. It is a common misconception to believe that you need money in place to start your social enterprise. There are many ways to get funding and different ways to start up your social enterprise. This module will cover funding and will take approximately 1 hour.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
After the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
1. Be able to identify sources of funding for their enterprise
2. Develop a marketing plan with the intent of securing funding.
3. Create a successful elevator pitch.
4. Be able to create a variety of exit strategies based upon different scenarios.

Introduction 1
This unit covers sources of funding for social enterprise, how to pitch for funding, developing marketing plans in order to receive funding, developing elevator pitches and developing exit strategies. This module should take no more than 1 hour.

This unit encourages participants to think about what costs a start-up may incur, and how best to calculate these.

This unit covers the different types of funding, and encourages participants to consider which sources of funding may be best suited to different scenarios they may face.

The Business Pitch 1
This unit shows participants how to outline their ideas for their business into a plan, and how to develop this into a fantastic pitch. It encourages participants to break down their idea into smaller steps, in order to completely understand their idea and the problem they seek to solve.

This unit covers the development of a successful exit strategy, and encourages participants to be reflective on the skills they have learnt in their enterprise, as well as to consider safe ways to exit their enterprise if so required.

This course will have covered the basics of funding a social enterprise, and how to develop a successful business plan and pitch which covers both entry to the market and exit strategies. Participants should be able to outline different sources of funding, assess their use in different scenarios
