    I now how been wondering about the Aphex vs. BBE thing. My rig is a SWR SM500 with two Aguilar GS112s and I have considered getting the Aphex 204 or the BBE 482 (or maybe the cheaper 362). It appears as though the aphex has more options, plus the Big Bottom, but it is a lot more expensive.
    Each channel has its own independent Exciter and Big Bottom effects, and both effects can be bypassed per channel via the 2 buttons at the center of the panel. Each effect is controlled by 3 knobs—from left to right, for Big Bottom these are Drive, Frequency, and Amount, and for the Exciter, Frequency, Harmonics, and Amount.
