An in-depth report on using Leica, Voigtlander, Zeiss and other M/LTM lenses on Fujifilm X series cameras, such as the X-T1 and X-E2, among others. Adapters, caveats, performance and more are reviewed.
The Fujifilm M-Mount Adapter will let you use your Leica M lenses on the X Pro 1 – and it is a SMART adapter, it will recognise them and allow you to use the hybrid viewfinder. Whilst I am
Fujifilm X-Pro2 vs Leica M: Imitation is the Highest Form of Flattery? The X-Pro2 was many orders of magnitude better than the X-Pro1 it replaced, and additional manual controls were added
From the information you’ve provided Jessestr, I’d say you’d be most happy with an optical viewfinder, which currently limits things to the X100(s) or X-Pro1. IMO only the latest X-T1 generation of EVFs are really up to the mark if you’re swinging a camera round in less than ideal conditions, and have autofocus to match your expectations.
X-Pro2 + vintage sounds like a match made in heaven! However, I am curious about one thing : I was gonna splash out on a Canon EF-Fuji X Lens Turbo II, and adapt this further to my Minolta, M42 and PK mounts using adapter rings (since the EF mount has the shortest flange distance), but have seen very few reviews of version 2. Fuji X-Pro 1 and the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 . by Jim Gamblin Three Months in South East Asia with a Leica M6 and the Fuji X100 By Brendan Gara Hi Steve, I’ve been following your website for quite a while now. The EVF in the XP1 is not as good for manual focus as the XE-1.
The X-Pro 1 is a better camera than the Leica M9 in every way except manual focus, which I don’t use on the Fuji, anyways; I just wish it had been around when I first invested $22,000.00 in Leica gear, heh.
X-Pro1 features to assist with manual focusing is a magnified digital viewfinder. Your search for focus peaking and other comparable tools to help with manual focusing in the X-Pro1 will be in vain. In other regards as well, the X-Pro1 is poorly equipped for working with third-party lenses, owing to its firmware (version 1.11).
Guildford Passion 2016: Fuji X-Pro2 and 100-400 Fujinon zoom. It feels funny to sit here typing this article in a tin helmet but I feel like some protection may be advisable as I set out to explain just how and why Fuji has overtaken Leica and replaced the red dot in so many gadget bags.
This is less than the cost of a good second-hand Leica M6 film camera. fujifilm.com. The new Fujifilm is in many ways a superior product to last year’s complicated X-Pro1. I have been lucky enough to get my hands one of the first X-E1s to hit the British market and have been trying it with five Leica manual focus lenses.
Looking for a Fujifilm X100F vs Leica M10 comparison? The X100F is less expensive. Find out where the M10 wins!
Goodbye Leica – Hello Fuji. Tweet. September 26, 2015 by Jed Best. I can zone focus like my Leica, I can manually focus like my Leica and I can now also auto focus. My other major quibble is the lack of exposure compensation in manual mode but it seems that is being offered in the new
