When you bolt on a K&N 57i Performance Induction Kit, you will see immediate results. The K&N 57 Series Air Intake replaces the restrictive factory air box with High-Flow air intake technology and a larger air filter, allowing more horsepower-boosting cold air flow to your engine.
After fitting a standard Toyota exhaust, the easiest route to more power was to replace the air induction/filter system. I chose the K&N 57i as it seemed a sensible choice and was available in kit form for the MR2. My car is a “late” model which means it has the air filter in the boot (inside the nearside wing).
Hi guys, really appreciate your inputs here. I’ve just installed the K&N 57i 57-0434 induction kit on my mx5 mk2. Unfortunately, at occasions the idle rpm would be between 2-3k rpm. Anyone has any idea why that is happening? Could it be that I’ve damaged the MAF or the air temperature sensor? Thanks for your advices.
