    Today’s lesson will focus on using modal verbs for certainty, probability, and deduction. “Deduction” means using the information available to make a guess or draw a conclusion about the facts. Depending on the information available, you might be more certain that your conclusion is true
    Modal auxiliary verbs and verb phrases are used to indicate that something is necessary, advisable, permissible, possible, or probable. The following chart shows the modal verbs and verb phrases in their present/future and past uses.
    Modal verbs are a kind of auxiliary verb. They facilitate the main verb for suggesting potential, expectation, permission, ability, possibility, and obligation. When used with the main verb, modal verbs do not end with -s for the third-person singular.
