EDFC ACTIVE PRO features wireless control, for easy installation and wiring. The controller wirelessly communicates with the motor driver units that command EDFC motors. No more need to pierce cables through trunk or engine firewalls and snaking them about the vehicle.
The Tein EDFC wiring requires: 1. Always on Power 2. Accessory Power Up 3. Illumination Now for the always on, I’ve picked the passenger side power seat wire. For the Accessory, I’ve tapped into the IGN fuse wire. I’m not quite sure what to take for illumination, and was wondering if you guys had better suggestions for the other two wires.
EDFC compatibility is confirmed only with the nut of 8mm high, use of taller nut and/or other manufacturer’s nut might disable EDFC installation. Be sure to check nut size before installation. (Some of nuts provided by TEIN might be of 12mm high and in such case EDFC motor can not be installed. Please use the 8mm one.) Most TEIN damping force adjustable dampers come with 16-level adjustment. Use of EDFC ACTIVE adds 32-level and 64-level adjustment capabilities within the same range for finer adjustments especially in automatic adjustment modes. Wireless Control: EDFC ACTIVE features wireless control system for easy installation / wiring.
    1) Harness plug between EDFC motor and EDFC wiring harness. The terminals (pins) inside the plug can be pushed out slightly causing the connection to be lost. You can see on this male connector that the pin on the right has been pushed back not allowing a connection to be made.
EDFC manual state that power supplies for the 2 motors needs MAX 3.5A it’s should be about 40 Watt 2) Speed signal: – How do I connect that? OBDII terminal? – Is it possible to feed speed signal from Carbon Signal GTR gauges? No info on that in the EDFC manual. Controller have single wire for signal input.
I’ve been researching an eventual upgrade to a Tein Flex setup, and one the of the points in it’s favor (besides being a damn good coilover) was the EDFC. Looking through the Tein website, however, they say that there are clearance problems with the EDFC motor mounted on the front struts. Thus, a few questions for the crowd:
specifications as stated on the installation manual. For serious, follow them all to the T, This Street Advance coilover aim toward city driving and comfort NOT for a track use. Dont make the same silly mistake as I did, The instructions are written in is Tein super street can be service? NISSAN PULSAR C12 13-ON TEIN STREET ADVANCE COILOVER
RallySport Direct proudly carries quality suspension upgrades and accessories brought to you by TEIN. Here, you are looking at the TEIN EDFC Motor Kit. These are the motors provided in the EDFC System and are available for separate purchase for those of you who need direct replacements. DETAILS: M12-M14 size
Okay, news just in, I’m going to have the TEIN Flex coilovers installed next week with the TEIN EDFC Active Pro system at RRG Macc’ next week. Then it’s off to Fensport on Thursday to meet up with Yukiko from TEIN for all the setup and programming of the system to my requirements.
Just received by Tein Super Street Coilovers. Not suprisingly since they were ordered from japan there is not a single word of english in the instruction manual. I shouldn’t have man probs actaully installing them, but it would be nice to know what it says and get some info about the adjustments on them.
According to TEIN, over 100,000 of these EDFC units were sold, and TEIN has continued to innovate. In 2013, the firm released the TEIN EDFC ACTIVE, which was an entirely new unit. First off, it’s smaller than the EDFC, making installation a lot easier, especially if you’re trying to hide it from plain sight.

EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) makes it possible for the driver to adjust the damping force by controlling a motor installed on the shock absorber while being seated in the driver’s seat. The driver can enjoy the variations in suspension settings fully and actively, according to various driving situations.
