Jan 3, 2018 -z4 power top won’t retract Z4 DIY (Do It Yourself) Articles. If you get BMW to do it over here they take the whole roof out and charge you for a new pump, which can cost something between Top feels loose, like it’s not connected to lifting mechanism. I had to open the top with a allen wrench and spinning it manually.
Roof naturally opens (springs open) an inch once released from I must not have connected everything up quite correct.my roof had the winding the roof back manually and unceasing the motor that way? I’d be happy having it done at a non-BMW specialist garage if it kept the cost down, personally.
