    Two sided fusible interfacing. (I used Fairfield “Stick” Fusible Web). Next we’re going to break out the quilt basting spray. This is another temporary adhesive, but this time to stick fabric to fabric. For single layer applique like our dinosaur and our letters, you can go ahead and iron them down

    Generally, the heavier weight fusible webs are meant as a no-sew product. Years ago (mid-1990’s) Debbie Mumm used this for her pen stitching fusible applique technique—she literally drew a running stitching on her applique Lighter fusible webs were developed, specifically for sewing through.

    14. Fusible web. Sometimes we need a quilt for yesterday! I think the fusible raw edge applique technique was invented for such quick projects! It requires fusible web- a double-sided adhesive that has a paper backing and that it is used for fusing two pieces of fabric together.

    While Laura does use fusible web for the back of her entire wall quilt, that’s not necessary for projects that you prefer to be soft and supple.
